KineMaster is one of the most powerful mobile video editors, known for its precise layer-based timeline, professional features, and steep learning curve compared to consumer-friendly apps like CapCut. Exporting finished projects to MP4 is built into the app — but "download" can mean different things: exporting your video, backing up the project file, or saving shared KineMaster assets.
This guide covers all of them.

Exporting a finished video to MP4

This is the most common task and entirely handled inside KineMaster:

  1. Open your project in KineMaster.
  2. Tap the Export button (usually top-right of the timeline view).
  3. Pick resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p, 4K depending on your subscription and source content).
  4. Pick frame rate (24/30/60 fps).
  5. Pick bitrate (KineMaster lets you fine-tune — most users keep the default).
  6. Tap Export.
  7. The MP4 lands in your phone's gallery / camera roll.

This is the cleanest way to get a finished video out of KineMaster. SaveFast isn't needed here.

Removing the KineMaster watermark

Free-tier KineMaster exports include a small watermark in the corner. The watermark goes away with KineMaster Premium subscription — no other reliable way to remove it from already-exported files (watermark removal tools leave visible artifacts).
For casual content, the watermark is small enough to be acceptable. For professional or monetized content, the subscription is worth it.

Backing up KineMaster project files

KineMaster's project files are saved internally to the app. To back them up:

  1. Open KineMaster.
  2. From the project list, tap and hold a project → Backup option.
  3. Save the .kine file to your device's storage.
  4. Transfer to another device or cloud storage as needed.

The .kine file is a project archive — you can restore it later by importing in KineMaster. SaveFast doesn't handle these proprietary files.

Downloading shared KineMaster templates

KineMaster has a shared template system where creators publish templates other users can apply. If you want the rendered template video as a reference (not to use in KineMaster but to view standalone):

  1. Find the template on KineMaster's web interface or in another creator's social post.
  2. Copy the URL.
  3. Open SaveFast.cc, paste, click Download.
  4. Pick MP4.

SaveFast captures the rendered template video. To use the template inside KineMaster, you still apply it through the app.

Downloading finished KineMaster-made videos from social media

If you see a great video made with KineMaster on TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube and want to save it for reference:

The video tool you can't see in the metadata, but the final file works regardless of editor.

Quality matters for KineMaster

KineMaster supports up to 4K export. If you've imported 4K source footage, exporting at 1080p downscales — pointlessly losing quality you paid for in storage. Always export at the highest resolution your source supports.
For mobile sharing (TikTok, Instagram), 1080p is fine. For long-term archival or repurposing, export at 4K when possible.

Comparing KineMaster to other editors

See our CapCut vs KineMaster comparison for the full breakdown. Short version: KineMaster for precise control, CapCut for ease and trendy templates.

Common issues

Export fails. Out of storage, or a memory issue. Free up space, restart the app, retry.
Export takes too long. Complex projects with many layers, effects, and high bitrate take significant time. 10-15 minutes for a 5-minute 4K export is normal.
Watermark appears even on Premium. Subscription may have lapsed, or you used a feature still requiring Premium. Check your account status.
MP4 won't play on other devices. Check the codec settings — KineMaster supports multiple encoding options; H.264 is the most universally compatible.

Privacy and shared content

Your own KineMaster projects are private by default. Templates you publish to the community are public.
For reuse: KineMaster templates are designed for remix. Credit the original creator when sharing derivative work — it's the platform's culture.
