Snapchat is built around disappearing content. Private snaps last seconds. Public Stories last 24 hours. Spotlight videos (Snapchat's TikTok-equivalent) stay longer but can be removed at any time. The platform actively discourages saving content — there's no native download button for most content types.

What can and can't be downloaded

Downloadable through SaveFast:

For music-driven Spotlight content (and there's a lot), grab MP3 instead of MP4 to save space. The audio extracts cleanly from the source file.

Common issues

"Content not available." The Spotlight video was deleted or made private. No recovery.
"This Snap can't be shared." The content type is private by design — private snaps, chat messages, and friends-only Stories aren't accessible.
Audio missing. Some Snapchat content uses licensed music that's been stripped from the underlying file due to licensing.

Is downloading Snapchat content legal?

Will Snapchat notify the creator?
