LinkedIn video has grown from a niche feature to a core part of the platform's content mix. Industry experts post insights, recruiters explain hiring processes, executives share company news, and educators run mini-tutorials. The content is often genuinely useful — but LinkedIn provides no download option. The save feature just adds the post to your LinkedIn collection inside the platform.

What kinds of LinkedIn videos can you download?

Three main types, all with the same workflow:

  • Native post videos — uploaded directly to LinkedIn by a user or page. The most common type.
  • LinkedIn Live recordings — replays of past LinkedIn Live broadcasts. Downloadable once the live session ends.
  • Embedded videos — sometimes LinkedIn posts embed YouTube or Vimeo videos. Those download from their source platform; copy the original YouTube/Vimeo URL, not the LinkedIn URL.

LinkedIn Learning courses are different — they're behind a paid subscription and use DRM. SaveFast doesn't bypass DRM, so LinkedIn Learning content isn't downloadable through this method.

Downloading on Desktop

  1. Open the LinkedIn post in your browser. The URL typically looks like linkedin.com/posts/username_activity-1234567890-abc/.
  2. Click the three dots ⋯ in the top-right of the post → Copy link to post.
  3. Go to savefast.cc, paste, click Download.
  4. Pick the MP4 quality. LinkedIn usually offers 480p, 720p, and sometimes 1080p.
  5. The file lands in your Downloads folder.

Alternatively, if the post is open in its own page view (not in your feed), you can copy the URL directly from the address bar.

Downloading on iPhone

  1. In the LinkedIn app, tap the three dots ⋯ on the post → Copy link to post.
  2. Open Safari → savefast.cc.

Quality available

LinkedIn caps video uploads at relatively modest quality:

  • 1080p — uploaded by creators with the right setup, but not guaranteed.
  • 720p — most common middle tier.
  • 480p, 360p — common lower tiers for mobile.

File sizes are small — a 2-minute LinkedIn video at 720p is typically 15-25 MB. LinkedIn's compression is moderate; quality is fine for professional content where visual fidelity isn't critical.

Audio extraction

For expert interviews, panel discussions, and longer-form professional content, the MP3 option is often more useful than the video. Listen during commutes, store on your professional reference library, or use in note-taking workflows.

LinkedIn Live recordings

When a LinkedIn Live event ends, it gets converted into a regular video post on the host's profile. Once that conversion finishes (usually within 30-60 minutes), the recording is downloadable like any other LinkedIn video. Use the post URL of the recording.
During a live broadcast, you can't download — wait until the recording is published.

Privacy and visibility

LinkedIn distinguishes between several privacy levels:

  • Public posts — visible to anyone, downloadable without login.
  • Connections-only posts — only your network sees them. Downloadable if you have access.
  • Group posts — only group members see them.
  • Company-internal posts — varying access.

SaveFast uses whatever access your browser has. If you can view the video, you can download it. If LinkedIn blocks viewing, the download blocks too.

Common issues

"Post not found" error. The post was deleted, the user changed privacy settings, or the post was removed by LinkedIn moderation.
Only low quality available. The uploader didn't provide high quality. LinkedIn doesn't generate higher-quality versions than the source.
Captions burned into video. If the creator uploaded with hardcoded captions, those are baked into the file. If LinkedIn auto-generated captions, they're overlay-only and not in the download.
Video downloads but the LinkedIn page shows a different one. Some LinkedIn posts contain multiple media items (image carousel with one video, multi-video posts). Make sure you're targeting the right post.
"Sign in to view this content." LinkedIn sometimes gates content behind login. Log in in your browser and try again.

Professional use considerations

LinkedIn content is published for professional networking. Some implicit norms apply:

  • Saving for personal reference — universally accepted.
  • Sharing within your team or organization — typically fine, especially for openly public posts.
  • Republishing on your own LinkedIn or other platforms — requires creator permission. LinkedIn culture especially values attribution.
  • Using content for training materials — usually fine if you credit the source; for paid training programs, get explicit permission.
